Abstract
This table of contents presents a collective volume examining credit rating agencies from several perspectives: their historical development, agency theory, the paradox of delegating powers without appropriate regulatory oversight, issues of democratic legitimacy, European regulatory frameworks, and the normative power these agencies exercise over markets and sovereign States. The collection draws on multidisciplinary contributions to address the challenges of oversight, accountability and legitimacy raised by the oligopolistic structure of rating agencies in the context of global finance.

Cet ouvrage collectif examine les agences de notation de crédit selon plusieurs perspectives : leur développement historique, la théorie de l'agence, le paradoxe de la délégation de compétences sans contrôle réglementaire approprié, les enjeux de légitimité démocratique, les cadres réglementaires européens et le pouvoir normatif que ces agences exercent sur les marchés et les États souverains. L'ouvrage mobilise des contributions pluridisciplinaires pour traiter les défis de contrôle, de responsabilité et de légitimité posés par la structure oligopolistique des agences de notation dans le contexte de la finance mondiale.
