Abstract
Benoit Frydman argues that natural law functions not merely as a tool for contesting established order but fundamentally as an epistemological workshop in which legal representations, operative concepts, instruments, and techniques have been progressively forged throughout history. Tracing this pragmatic epistemic function from Athenian democracy through contemporary global law, Frydman demonstrates how natural law in its varying denominations has concretely shaped the organization of positive law and the production of practical legal tools, particularly confronting contemporary algorithmic and technological transformations of legal governance.
