Abstract

Benoit Frydman argues that contemporary legal transformations represent not a reallocation of power between authorities but a hollowing out of law's normative substance through deregulation and market-driven rationality. Analyzing supranational institutions, Internet governance, and judicial practice, he demonstrates how the appearance of juridical proliferation masks a crisis of legal prescription, wherein substantive rules systematically disappear while formal structures of authority proliferate.
